At Project Carry On, we believe that how you move through a major life transition matters. Our mission is to restore dignity, self-worth, and comfort to individuals during critical moments of change by providing clean, high-quality care kits packed inside durable, reusable luggage.

The Problem We Address

Too often, people navigating vulnerable life shifts are forced to transport their entire lives in disposable plastic garbage bags. Foster youth moving between homes, new mothers leaving care facilities, elders transitioning into long-term living facilities, and individuals experiencing housing insecurity frequently face this reality. Carrying belongings in a trash bag sends an unspoken message that your possessions—and by extension, your story—are disposable.

Our Model & Impact

We operate a circular support model that turns surplus resources into meaningful relief:

• Luggage Rescue: We are actively building strategic partnerships with regional travel hubs, transit authorities, and community networks to redirect unclaimed and donated suitcases into hands that need them—turning surplus travel gear into tools for dignity.

• Targeted Care Packages: Each piece of luggage is thoroughly inspected, sanitized, and packed with specialized, high-need supplies tailored to specific groups:

  • Foster Youth: Personal care items, journals, and comfort essentials.

  • New Mothers: Postpartum supplies, infant necessities, and self-care products.

  • Elders in Care: Mobility accessories, warm clothing, and personal hygiene items.

  • Unhoused Individuals: Weather-appropriate gear, sturdy toiletries, and health supplies.

• Community Distribution: We are actively building relationships with local social workers, shelters, and family care networks to establish direct pipeline channels—ensuring our kits go straight to the individuals who need them most during critical life transitions.

Why It Matters
